Themes and Submissions

The fair will showcase more than 160 submissions coming from:

  • projects and programmes from around the world
  • staff from the Rome-based agencies
  • numerous networks and communities of practice

The Fair is structured around the following 8 themes:

Learn how and when to use knowledge sharing methods and tools to do your job better, increase your productivity and create a collaborative and conducive knowledge sharing environment. See knowledge sharing tools and techniques in action.

K stores

Check out how databases, information systems and websites are supporting knowledge sharing processes.

K for outreach

Find out how cultural events, participatory approaches, print publications aimed at disseminating information on specific topics to wide and geographically-distributed audiences can facilitate learning and sharing.

K for influence and advocacy

Understand how knowledge sharing processes influence policy and policy makers resulting in concrete actions which change the course of development.

K for projects

Discover how rural development programmes and projects are using knowledge sharing approaches, methods and tools to address rural development challenges and overcome obstacles. Learn about the systems and processes rural development projects have put in place to systematically access the knowledge they need when they need it.

K for rural communication

Check out how different communication methods and tools (such as mobile phones, rural radios, laptops, print-publications, videos) are empowering rural communities. Find out how these tools and techniques are bridging the knowledge gap allowing rural communities at the grassroots-levels to share and learn.

K for networks and communities

Learn how to create successful knowledge networks and communities of practice to leverage experience and expertise across organizational and geographic boundaries.

K for institutions and partnerships

Understand how institutions support, promote and leverage knowledge sharing approaches and tools to create an effective knowledge sharing environment. Discover how partnerships between non-profit institutions and for-profit businesses are addressing rural development challenges by pooling knowledge assets, stimulating knowledge transfer and creating new knowledge.
